The people of Yemen are showing incredible strength in the midst of a conflict that continues to devastate their country. 20th December 2017 marks 1,000 days of war since the conflict escalated in early 2015.
The vast majority of the Yemeni people do not want war and are simply hoping for this nightmare to end as soon as possible. In the meantime, their resilience is being tested beyond imagination, yet still they hold on and try to survive day by day.
While the politics of the conflict are complicated and contested, the basic principles of humanity are not: The Yemeni people have a right to live in peace, free from conflict and violence. They have a right to food and water, healthcare, education for their children and hope for a better future. Right now, the people of Yemen are being denied these rights. And to make matters worse, many feel as if the world ignores Yemen and has forgotten about them.
The campaign ‘Yemen: Bruised, but never Broken’ aims to show that there are many, many people in different places worldwide that do know what is happening in Yemen. And more importantly, that care about the Yemeni people who are suffering in silence. These people are taking action and expressing their support for fellow human beings who are currently living through a man-made hell on earth.
This is something we can all do, today! So please share your message of solidarity, admiration and hope. Please join us now, raise your voice, and let the people of Yemen know that you care!
You can post your message to our Facebook page or email it to: email@example.com
The campaign organizers will collect and compile the messages of solidarity and actively spread these in Yemen through online networks.
